Warning! They’re Coming For Your Children
And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you
Never have those lyrics from Paul Simon’s Kathy’s Song been more apt. We now have a generation of scared young people living in a world devoid of principles, belief and hope. The basic tenets that once informed and characterised our place in society – responsibility, resilience, courage, tolerance, respect and care for others – have been shamed and scorned away. In their place is a cold, self-indulgent, nihilistic, narcissistic, selfish, egocentric perspective, centred around ones’ rights, and devoid of obligation, conscience, culpability or guilt. Truth has no meaning in a world where the expression of any idea that is contrary to one’s own, is hate speech that must be silenced. We live in the “me” generation. If the song were written today, the last line would surely read, “The only truth I know is me.”
For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
2 Timothy 3:2-4
The Ejection of God
Although Simon’s sense of isolation is normal for young adults finding their place in the world (although Simon was 24 when he wrote the song), I suspect that Simon’s perturbation was magnified by the social changes of his time: the advent of the “teenager”, the pill, women’s liberation, civil rights and the Vietnam War (already 10 years old). The solid foundations of the American family; allegiance to country, democracy and trust in government were already under heavy assault.
I used, naively, to believe that such changes were the result of “social osmosis”; a response to the needs and desires of the population, but long ago I realised that all societal change is planned by those with an agenda, who manipulate the population to construct their own self-serving paradigm. Any condition that arises that is deleterious to that paradigm is immediately targeted for derision or retribution and eliminated. The idea that we have any control over our destiny through democracy is patently false. Now, since becoming a Christian, I can see that their agenda is not entirely, if at all, a temporal one.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Simon’s Song is about a premarital affair and the unrequited love that resulted from it. The lyrics no doubt elicited sympathy in middle America in 1965, yet 50 years earlier they would have aroused anger for the immorality of his situation. Then, young relationships in God-fearing homes were slow to develop and strictly chaperoned. This perspective, in the brave new world of the 1960s, would have been completely lost on the young Simon who saw nothing damaging in his behaviour. He clearly had no idea why he felt so lost.
The speed with which God has been driven from the lives of the past two or three generations is breathtaking, but worse is yet to come. The consequences are obvious everywhere. Divorce, drug addiction, alcoholism, STDs, single parent families (where children have measurably less success compared to 2-parent households), suicides, homelessness, poverty and a host of other maladies are the result. The Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency reports that the most reliable indicator of violent crime in a community is the proportion of fatherless families.
From the early fifties, when the teenage culture began to take root, fuelled by fashion, popular music and increased wealth, the hidden, nefarious agenda has been followed. Films like Rebel without a Cause deliberately introduced a fashion for the distrust and disrespect of parents. Ginger and Rosie broke down traditional values and morality, normalising premarital sex (still in 1960, socially unacceptable). And so it continued through the decades, gradually introducing more extreme violence, hedonism and godlessness: Clockwork Orange, If, Thirteen and so many, hundreds, more. Celebrity culture elevated mindless, shallow, valueless individuals as role models for our kids and they lapped it up. Meanwhile, oblivious parents not only allowed their children to view the films, video games and internet pages, and follow the “celebrities” that gradually warped their minds, but contentedly became willing travellers along the road.
As we became more affluent still, new opportunities arose to subvert our minds. By the 1990s, Homosexuality, an illegal activity only three decades before, was now cool and hip – a lifestyle to be embraced, celebrated and sampled.
Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Whilst governments feigned despair at the quantity of drugs available in their countries, the CIA was actively importing vast amounts, worth billions of dollars, into the US and for onward transmission to Europe and other places in the world. Meanwhile the “morning after” pill was introduced for those too lazy to remember to take a regular one and when that failed, there was always murder as a backstop. In Britain, some 180,000 lives are terminated through abortion every year. In 2012 the US senate narrowly defeated a bill which would have legalised sex-selection abortions. Even so, 168 senators voted in favour.
Human life has become so inconsequential that “after birth” abortion is now receiving increasing academic and general support. Thomas Aquinas student, Mairead Mcardle, writes in The College Fix,
“Anecdotal evidence by leaders of pro-life groups such as Created Equal and Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust said in interviews that not only do they see more college students willing to say they support post-birth abortion, but some students even suggest children up to 4 or 5-years-old can also be killed, because they are not yet “self aware.”
She cites the testimony of Mark Harrington, the director of Created Equal. Harrington said, “We encounter people who think it is morally acceptable to kill babies after birth on a regular basis at almost every campus we visit. While this viewpoint is still seen as shocking by most people, it is becoming increasingly popular.”
Across the world, some legislators are pushing for the legalisation of incest, necrophilia and paedophilia. In California, state statue SB 1322 effectively legalised child prostitution from January 1st 2017, by preventing law enforcement officers from arresting sex worker minors. In October 2013 the American Psychological Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (the DSM-5) listed paedophilia as an “orientation” rather than a “disorder”. We all know what’s coming next!
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Mechanisms of Control
I used to believe in Social Justice. By which I meant that everyone should have equal opportunity to do the things in life that brought them happiness. I supported policies that resulted in the transfer of wealth from the haves to the have-nots. Not through taxation, benefits or social programmes, but by simply levelling the playing field in terms of equal and fair pay, free access to education, and freedom of action and expression. Of course I recognised that there remained the intrinsic ability of the individual as a major determinant of success.
Now Social Justice means something entirely different – “me!” Today’s youth are entitled. They have been trained from birth to put “me” first. Remember the song?
I believe the children are our future
Teach them well
And let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty
They possess inside
Give them a sense of pride
Everybody’s searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone
Who fulfilled my needs
A lonely place to be
And so I learned to depend on me.
I decided long ago
Never to walk in anyone’s shadow
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I lived as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can’t take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
And If by chance that special place
That you’ve been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love (of me).
Christians will remember that the greatest love of all was expressed by Christ’s sacrifice. Our responsibility is to return that love, subjugating ourselves in the process. Our greatest love is for God and our neighbours. This song, like dozens of others, exposes the forces at work that pervert our minds with seemingly good concepts that are in fact anti-God – Satanic.
If by happenstance or parental design our children somehow miss the message, they will certainly get it as soon as they hit the indoctrination (education) system. Even those parents lucky enough to be able to home or private school their kids, are likely to find a very different individual walking through the door on the next university summer vacation visit. Here’s some examples of university mind-control:
The National Union of Students Women’s Campaign have banned clapping at their conferences because you never know what might trigger anxiety.
A student in Ohio became the centre of an internet storm recently for wearing a Chinese-patterned dress to the high school prom. She was accused of “cultural appropriation”.
Students at a Californian college were forced to apologise recently after they served burritos at a science fiction event. One student wrote a complaint to a school administrator alleging that the choice of burritos at the alien-themed event was offensive because it made “a connection between individuals of Latino heritage or undocumented students and ‘aliens.’ ” The university upheld the complaint.
UoC President, Janet Napolitano recently issued a list of phrases that the faculty should avoid in their communications with student. Included were:
“America is a land of opportunity.”
“America is a melting pot,”
“I believe the most qualified person should get the job,”
“There is only one race, the human race.”
“When I look at you, I don’t see colour.”
“Where are you from?”
“Where were you born?”
Goldsmiths University, London student’s Union voted 60-1 against a holocaust memorial day as “too Eurocentric”. A student also explained that, “white people should not be proposing motions condemning genocides.” The union also rejected a motion condemning ISIS because it was “Islamophobic“. Months later, another Goldsmiths student union officer, organised an event at the university to protest inequality. On the advertisement for the event, he wrote, “If you’ve been invited and you’re a man and/or white PLEASE DON’T COME.”
Until quite recently healthy people understood the population to be divided into males and females. We knew that nature sometimes played tricks and a small proportion of people (1 in 4500) were born with ambiguous genitalia. We also knew that a psychological condition sometimes caused people to feel deeply uncomfortable with their gender. Those groups enjoyed the sympathy and support most people offer to anyone unlucky enough to face physical or mental issues in their lives.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Now, not only may we choose from up to 85 (at the last count) pronouns to describe the particular way we are feeling, but we can demand others to use them too. Those organisations that are leading the way in insisting that we comply include the governments of the UK, US and, particularly, Canada, universities, the health service and, of course, The Church of England. Failure to comply in some jurisdictions can lead to a fine of up to a quarter of a million dollars!
But it doesn’t stop there. One woman, a recent YouTube star, lives as cat. She moves around on all fours making purring noises and sleeps on a specially extended windowsill at night. Increasing numbers of people around the world are marrying objects: clocks, cars, phones – a quick google will reveal a much longer list if you are interested. Failure to respect the wishes of such people can land you in serious trouble for bullying or hate speech. Challenge them directly and they will run spitting and crying to their safe spaces, label you a fascist and seek to have you silenced. Interviewed on BBC Radio 4 recently, a transgender girl proclaimed, “It is my right to be addressed by the pronoun of my choice!” Never mind my right to use the language of my choosing!
Meanwhile, again in California, it may soon be illegal to even suggest to a homosexual or transsexual person that their issue may be psychological in origin and that therapy or God may help. This is not banning the Bible itself (yet!), but it is banning the message. Liberty Counsel reported;
“This bill would also make it unlawful for any person to sell books, counselling services, or anything else that directs people to trust in Jesus Christ to help them overcome unwanted same-sex attraction, or gender confusion.”
The bill, AB 2943, forbids counsellors from telling a gender-confused male client that he is actually a man but not that he is a woman.
Reality is under threat. Deception is rife. The plan is clear: divide, confuse, alienate, weaken. It’s working. The number of students seeking counselling and reporting mental health issues has doubled at some universities over the past eight years. Voices raised in opposition are silenced. Contrary opinions are fake news.
You are of your father the devil and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning and did not abide in truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.
Come soon Lord Jesus!
